waah senengnya.. menjelang Ramadhan dapet kado dari para senior (salah satunya Pak Dhe Rudy..), satu penghargaan buatku di dunia blog nusantara, padahal binun juga sech, dalam rangka apa yak..???? pake di kasih award segala.. tetapi tidak mengurangi rasa hormat pada para senior tak terima aja awardnya buat nambah koleksi trophy di rumah.. Seiring dengan semakin meningkatnya kebutuhan akan tempat penyimpanan data pada dunia maya, para pemakai layanan email dari Google Inc., Gmail juga telah menghabiskan dengan cepat kapasistas penyimpanan yang mereka miliki dari Gmail. Pihak Google mengatakan sedang mempercepat proses penambahan kapasitas penyimpanan bagi setiap pemakai layanan email Google, Gmail. Peningkatan kebutuhan kapasitas penyimpanan pada layanan email ini juga dipacu oleh penyimpanan data-data dengan ukuran besar seperti foto dan gambar-gambar.

Rob Siemborski dari pihak Google Gmail mengatakan pada itworld.com, “Banyak dari Anda pengguna Gmail mulai kehabisan tempat penyimpanan data, oleh karena itu maka hari ini kami mengumumkan sebuah janji untuk untuk mempercepat penambahan kapasitas penyimpanan data kami dengan cuma-cuma”.

Peningkatan bertahap Google untuk fasilitas emailnya pada Gmail dimulai pada April 2005 yang lalu, ketika layanan ini tepat berusia satu tahun. Gmail sendiri mulai diluncurkan Google pada tahun 2004 dengan menawarkan kapasitas cuma-cuma sebesar 1 Gigabyte. Namun tak lama kemudian Gmail segera tersaingi oleh rival-rivalnya.

Pada pertengahan Oktober ini, para pemakai Gmail kembali dijanjikan kenaikan kapasitas menjadi sekitar 2.935 Megabyte atau sekitar 2,9 Gigabyte.

Sementara itu Microsoft Corp. sendiri telah meningkatkan batas dari kapasitas penyimpanan datanya untuk layanan Windows Live Hotmail hingga 5 Gigabyte pada bulan Agustus yang lalu. Sedangkan Yahoo Inc. telah mulai dengan tidak membatasi kapasitas penyimpanan datanya pada bulan Mei yang lalu.

Dengan kata lain berarti para pelanggan email saat ini telah dimanjakan dengan beragam kapasitas penyimpanan raksasa dari berbagai perusahaan penyedia layanan email, yang tinggal mereka pilih sesuai keinginan.
